You discover that the world as we know is going to end, you don't know what is going to happen but you need to find a safer place, you can choose only one to get to safety...choose wisely
i would take a moterbike and head for the nearest area of undeveloped land(im in iowa, id head for wisconsin/minnesota forests) it would depend on how the world as i know it would end though, im thinking war/nuclear apocalypse here, get away from targets and infrastruture, live as a crazy survivalist hermit natural, climate disaster, well that i have no idea, cause there may be nowhere to run
I say bicycle, mainly due to the fact that it does not need Petrol, is more maneuverable, can be carried over obstacles, and is more energy efficient than walking.
(For some reason, I imagine the world like in the 2012 film, with the tectonic plates breaking apart and driving up pieces of land in rough squares)
Motorbike allows for good maneuverability early on, once you run out of gas you hit problems though.
Regular bike has that 'don't need gas' edge to it.
Truck depending on what kind. Tractor trailer if you can 'acquire' enough gasoline to tote along, because the trailer'd have heck of storage room, or it'd be a massive gas tank itself.
Motorbike is the most logical to me. You can get really far on a single tank of gas, and if you haven't reached safety by then, find a way to steal some fuel, it doesn't take much to keep it going.
If that fails, you still have your feet, and if you're near any kind of civilization still, you could probably find a bike if you looked hard enough.
All other options are too circumstantial or cumbersome, and a kayak requires an insane amount of physical endurance if you want to get any appreciable distance. You'd burn all your fat and eventually muscle mass in no time if you didn't pass out from exhaustion first.
motorbike is clearly a good choice. If you want to run from the mess of the city as fast as you can this is clearly the best choice but remember you dont know if you will find fuell when you run out of it. I still prefeer to go with my bike and make something like 100 km per day in 2.5 hours, and have the posibility to keep on moving without worying about having enough fuel. kayak is not the best choice but will save your ass if you know where you need to go
